Vision Statement
The Trade Data Exchange community drives out supply chain inefficiencies by addressing common challenges in technology, standards and trade processes.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Trade Data Exchange is to facilitate an open, secure, member run and owned global community that will solve supply chain process, standards and technology challenges by sharing and communicating logistics data, and working collaboratively to research, develop and implement solutions. Key beneficiaries will be member and non-member entities including exporters, importers, carriers, government and insurance agencies, brokers and other related participants in the supply chain.
Core Values
Member Sustainability: The TDE’s priority is to annually align its mission with
stakeholders’ business goals. The TDE focuses on resolving supply chain issues which will
increase members’ trade opportunities while improving operational efficiency and profitability.
The organization will act cooperatively to influence policies that specifically affect members’ trade.
Organizational Neutrality: The TDE will not favor any member over another in governance
or decision making. Services will be provided consistently to all users. There will be a
consistent demonstration of fairness to members and users in establishing policies, standards
and metrics.
Non-competitive Environment: The TDE relies on a broad, open community to develop and
implement solutions to common problems and needs. To maximize efficiencies resulting from the unfettered flow of information between stakeholders, the community will be organized to
maximize mutual benefits and prevent any member or group of users a competitive advantage.
Trust: The TDE Board recognizes that the community’s reputation will be critical to its success.
Trust must not be lost in any of the processes or the organization. Member data will be kept
confidential. Members will be screened for financial stability, integrity and honesty and required
to adhere to a code of conduct and rules. The TDE will effectively manage, self regulate
and self police processes and procedures so that the organization can be held out as an
authoritative source for entrusted data.
Inclusiveness: The TDE mission defines stakeholders as being a broad base of international
users serving or dependent on a global logistics marketplace. An inclusive community is vital
to attain the level of experience, advocacy and collaboration needed to achieve TDE’s vision to
identify common problems that can be solved by working together. Membership will be offered
to all companies in the extended logistics value chain.
Social Responsibility: The TDE vision drives out supply chain inefficiencies. In accomplishing
its mission, the TDE helps reduce congestion, transportation related pollution and excess
energy use, thus prolonging the life of current transportation systems and increasing capacity.
